Advanced Thermal Solutions has launched an engineering subscription programme for OEM customers, giving clients tiered monthly access to senior thermal engineers.

The offer is aimed at companies that need specialist help with heat management in existing products and systems still in development. It is intended for businesses that do not need a full-time thermal engineering team or do not want to build one internally.

Subscribers can choose from three tiers: Basic, Standard and Premium. The options range from five consultations a month to having an ATS engineer on site for one to two days every two weeks.

Higher-tier customers also get access to the company's thermal laboratories near Boston. Across all tiers, the service includes system-level thermal architecture reviews, simulation and CFD modelling guidance, design recommendations, and advice on heat sinks, cold plates, liquid-loop and two-phase cooling systems.

The programme also covers validation planning, test protocols, and decision-ready documentation and summaries. Contracts run on a semi-annual basis for a flat monthly fee, with the option to cancel after six months.

Specialist demand

The launch reflects a broader challenge for electronics manufacturers facing rising thermal demands in areas such as data centres, power electronics, aerospace, electric vehicle systems and medical devices. In many of these sectors, companies need niche engineering expertise at specific points in a product cycle rather than on a permanent basis.

Thermal management has become more prominent as electronics systems grow denser and more power-hungry. This has increased demand for engineers who can assess system architecture, model airflow and liquid-cooling options, and identify heat-related risks before products move into production.

ATS, which says it has more than 35 years of experience in thermal management, is positioning the subscription programme as an alternative to recruiting and training in-house specialists. Clients can use the service on demand when internal engineering resources are limited or only needed intermittently.

Dr. Kaveh Azar outlined the reasoning behind the structure of the offer.

"The Subscription Program's tiered service levels are based on our extensive experience and direct client feedback. Many customers do not require full-time thermal engineers or are not positioned to hire them internally. Instead, ATS engineers collaborate closely with a client's engineering team to solve thermal challenges-and often prevent them altogether. As needed, our team can be onsite, contributing to internal meetings, reports, and presentations. By resolving heat-related issues efficiently, our customers can stay focused on bringing innovative products to market right the first time with lower cost," said Dr. Kaveh Azar, president and CEO of Advanced Thermal Solutions.

Service model

The subscription approach gives ATS a recurring-services model alongside its established engineering and product work. For customers, it offers a way to bring in external expertise without committing to a permanent hire while maintaining regular access to senior engineers over a six-month period.

The programme includes regular satisfaction check-ins and allows for either remote consultation or more embedded support, depending on the tier selected.

ATS describes itself as an independent provider of thermal management services and products. Its work spans air, liquid and refrigeration-based cooling approaches, serving industries where heat can affect reliability, efficiency and product design.

Its engineering teams support applications ranging from data centres to medical devices. The new subscription programme extends that support into an ongoing service arrangement built around consultancy, design review and testing advice.

As electronics developers come under pressure to cut delays and avoid redesigns, access to specialist thermal engineers is becoming a more defined purchasing decision rather than an occasional consulting spend. ATS is seeking to package that work into a standardised, tiered service that customers can buy as a monthly contract.
