Convera has appointed four senior executives to lead strategy for its global money movement platform, spanning operations, technology, product and information systems.

Mike Cahill has been named EVP and Chief Operating Officer; Jon Southall has joined as SVP and Chief Technology Officer; Tui Allen has joined as SVP and Chief Product Officer; and Chris Steinig has been appointed Chief Information Officer.

The changes come as Convera expands work on an integrated platform for cross-border payments, foreign exchange risk management and multi-currency services for business customers. The four executives will lead execution across those areas.

Cahill moves into the Chief Operating Officer role after joining the business as Interim Chief Product and Technology Officer. He will lead Convera's combined Product, Technology and Operations organisation.

His background includes roles at Early Warning Services, the company behind Zelle, as well as PayPal, Boku and American Express. He has worked on financial platforms and operational change programmes.

Southall joins from PayPal, where he managed the Large Enterprise Platform, which Convera said supports more than USD $1.5 trillion in annual transaction volume.

He has also held roles at Boku and Braintree. His remit includes the technology behind cross-border money movement and related platform development.

Allen joins from Ticketmaster and Live Nation, where she worked on product modernisation. She also previously worked at Shopify, where she built new products.

Her appointment strengthens product leadership as Convera develops services designed to be easier for customers and partners to use and integrate. The company pointed to demand from businesses for tools that connect payments and foreign exchange management more closely.

Steinig takes the Chief Information Officer role after leading the company's technology operations. A 25-year veteran of the business, he will oversee links between platform modernisation, enterprise technology and operational resilience.

The appointments reflect a broader push to invest in technology and product delivery, including multi-currency accounts and application programming interfaces for banks, fintechs and business platforms.

Convera operates across more than 140 currencies and 200 countries and territories, with nearly USD $200 billion in annual payment flows. It focuses on commercial payments and serves businesses and institutions managing cross-border transactions.

Patrick Gauthier, Group Chief Executive Officer at Convera, outlined the company's view of what customers want from international payments.

"Businesses don't just need faster or less expensive cross-border payments. They need to know where their money is, what it is worth and how to protect it as it moves," said Patrick Gauthier, Group Chief Executive Officer at Convera.

He said the appointments support a broader strategy around integrated financial services for companies trading across borders.

"That is the opportunity in front of Convera. Our global reach, FX expertise, regulatory depth and customer relationships enable us to solve that problem in a way few providers can. Mike, Jon, Tui and Chris are proven leaders with the experience, judgement and execution discipline to help us deliver for customers. Each brings a distinct perspective, and together they give us the leadership depth to advance our roadmap for integrated cross-border money movement," Gauthier said.

Execution focus

Cahill said the company's next phase will depend on turning customer needs into products and improving the systems behind them.

"This team brings complementary strengths across product, technology and operations, backed by experience delivering at global scale," said Mike Cahill, EVP and Chief Operating Officer at Convera.

"Our focus is disciplined execution: translating customer needs into products, modernising the technology that supports them and delivering consistently in every market we serve. That is how we will make cross-border money movement simpler, more connected and more valuable for our customers," Cahill said.
