Dext appoints Joanne Modugno as General Manager for North America
Dext has appointed Joanne Modugno as General Manager for North America, with responsibilities based at its Toronto office.
Modugno will lead the company's North American operations, focusing on driving growth across sales, marketing, operations, and partnerships. The expansion is part of Dext's wider strategy to grow its market share in bookkeeping automation, following its acquisition by IRIS Software and a partnership with Airwallex.
Modugno, a Canadian, brings extensive experience from previous leadership roles at CIBC and Visa. At CIBC, she managed initiatives within commercial cards and small business portfolios. At Visa, she was pivotal in launching a multinational commercial card programme, as well as developing business-to-business products for small businesses. Modugno has also operated her own ventures and consulted for financial institutions, helping bring financial products to market, with recent focus on SaaS technology and embedded payments.
"Dext is more than an automation platform - it's a culture of passionate individuals committed to enhancing customer experiences, simplifying processes, and delivering meaningful insights. What excites me most is Dext's ability to empower accountants, bookkeepers and small businesses to focus on what matters most. With our strong accounting firm partnerships, our new integration with Airwallex, and the global reach of IRIS Software Group, we're uniquely positioned to deliver end-to-end solutions that create real value. I'm particularly looking forward to bringing my payments experience to support the launch of Dext Payments, ensuring we deliver a seamless solution to all customers," says Joanne Modugno.
Her initial priorities include strengthening Dext's regional presence by focusing on staff and client needs as well as reinforcing collaboration with the company's global leadership. Modugno's leadership is expected to support Dext's goal of further developing its North American business and increasing the adoption of AI-powered solutions within the bookkeeping sector.
Sabby Gill, Chief Executive Officer of Dext, commented on the appointment.
"Joanne's appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Dext in North America. Her depth of expertise in financial services, payments, and partner ecosystems, combined with her client-first leadership approach, will be pivotal as we accelerate our growth in this important market," says Sabby Gill, CEO of Dext.
Dext's acquisition by IRIS Software and its new partnership with Airwallex, a payments technology company, are intended to support the roll-out of new solutions for accounting workflows and to integrate payment services within its bookkeeping automation platform. These developments are designed to enhance more seamless workflows and improve the value offered to accountancy firms and small businesses across the region.
As Dext continues to focus on expanding its services and responding to the needs of accountants, bookkeepers, and small businesses, Modugno's experience in payments and financial management is seen as central to advancing the company's product suite and market reach within North America.
