Drata appoints Aneal Vallurupalli as CFO amid global expansion

Fri, 7th Nov 2025

Drata has named Aneal Vallurupalli as Chief Financial Officer, tasking him with overseeing the company's global finance operations as it continues its expansion in trust management, governance, risk, compliance, and assurance.

Leadership appointment

Vallurupalli's appointment comes on the back of a year of significant revenue growth, international expansion, and product developments at Drata. The company, which focuses on trust management software powered by artificial intelligence, has seen its customer base grow to more than 8,000 organisations, including publicly listed firms and a notable portion of the Forbes Cloud 100. Brands such as Brex, Lemonade, and Abnormal AI are among those using Drata's platform to automate and manage trust, compliance, and risk processes.

The newly appointed CFO will be responsible for Drata's financial operations as the company accelerates its expansion across North America, Europe, and Australia. Vallurupalli brings with him experience from technology companies including Airbase, Mattermost, Mapbox, and Guidewire, where he played roles in corporate development, fundraising, operational transformation, and public company readiness.

Growth milestones

Drata's recent performance includes exceeding USD $100 million in annual recurring revenue. The company completed the acquisition of SafeBase, boosting its offering with AI-powered Trust Centres that help organisations share and demonstrate trust with stakeholders.

Alongside the CFO appointment, Drata has also promoted Alex Patman to Chief Revenue Officer and Arun Singh to Chief Marketing Officer, further broadening its leadership team as part of its growth strategy.

Operational expertise

Vallurupalli's expertise covers a range of financial and operational responsibilities, including building scalable finance infrastructure and leading high-impact fundraising activities for technology-driven enterprises. In earlier roles, he has supported companies through phases of rapid growth and transition, guiding them toward enterprise status and expanding market presence.

His remit at Drata will include guiding the company through the financial complexities of further international expansion, increasing investment in product capabilities, and ensuring the company maintains disciplined execution as it looks to deepen relationships with both global enterprises and high-growth clients.

Trust management shift

"Drata has built the category-defining platform for trust management-one that's transparent, continuous, and autonomous across every facet of risk and compliance. I'm joining at a pivotal time, as Drata leverages AI to transform a legacy market that's long been fragmented and manual. Organisations everywhere need a foundation of trust to operate confidently in this new era, and Drata is leading the way," said Aneal Vallurupalli, CFO of Drata.

Adam Markowitz, Drata's Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said the company hired Vallurupalli to support its ability to scale globally with a focus on precision and purpose.

"As we expand globally and evolve how companies of all sizes operationalize trust, having a proven financial leader like Aneal ensures we can scale with precision and purpose. His expertise will be instrumental as Drata continues to lead the GRC and Assurance market and invest in new areas that advance our pursuit to help every organization build and protect trust," said Markowitz.

Market outlook

Drata aims to further expand its footprint in international markets during 2026. The company continues to position itself as a partner for enterprises seeking to address increasing regulatory obligations around governance, risk, compliance, and assurance in a shifting global environment.
