KnowBe4 appoints Yuneeb Khan as Chief Financial Officer
KnowBe4 has appointed Yuneeb Khan as Chief Financial Officer, putting the finance veteran in charge of the company's global finance function as it expands its focus on human and agentic AI risk management.
Khan succeeds Bob Reich, who is retiring. He will report to Chief Executive Officer Bryan Palma. Reich will remain an adviser through Q1 2026 and will work with Khan during the transition.
The appointment comes as cyber security suppliers place greater emphasis on risks tied to employee behaviour and the use of AI tools in the workplace. Many firms now track security awareness and policy compliance alongside technical controls. Vendors have also begun to frame "agentic AI" as a new category of risk, in which automated systems take actions that may affect data security and access governance.
KnowBe4 positions itself as a platform for managing those human-related risks. The company is known for security awareness training and phishing simulation services, and it has extended its messaging to AI-related risk as organisations adopt new tools and workflows.
Leadership change
Palma said Khan's experience across public and privately held companies makes him well suited to the role.
"Yuneeb's extensive experience across public and privately held companies makes him the ideal leader for KnowBe4 as we continue to scale our human risk management platform and deliver exceptional results for our customers."
Palma also credited Reich for helping strengthen the company's financial foundation.
"I want to thank Bob for his dedicated leadership and partnership. He has been instrumental in strengthening our financial foundation over the past four years, and he expertly supported the company through multiple significant milestones."
As CFO, Khan will lead KnowBe4's worldwide finance organisation. He will work with the executive leadership team and the board on financial strategy and operational execution, including profitability and growth priorities.
Career background
Khan has more than 30 years of experience across multiple industries and regions, including CFO roles in public and private companies and operational leadership positions.
Most recently, he was CFO at Trellix, overseeing finance during a period of integration and growth. Trellix is a cyber security company formed from the merger of McAfee Enterprise and FireEye.
Before Trellix, Khan served as Chief Financial and Operational Officer at Quotient Technologies, where he worked on the company's financial turnaround and later merger, according to the announcement.
Earlier, he spent about two decades at Nielsen and General Electric in finance and operational leadership roles in the US and internationally. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Companies have increasingly sought finance leaders with operational experience as software businesses balance growth targets with margin discipline. Boards have also tended to favour CFOs who can manage multi-country operations, oversee post-acquisition integration, and build reporting processes that meet investor and lender requirements.
KnowBe4 did not disclose financial details related to the appointment or say whether it plans changes to the finance team structure as part of the handover.
Focus on AI risk
Khan said he was joining at an important time, with growing attention on human factors and the security implications of AI adoption.
"I am thrilled to join KnowBe4 at such a pivotal moment in the organization's history," Khan said.
"KnowBe4's dedication to managing human and agentic AI risk is critical, and I look forward to working with the leadership team to deliver greater customer value and extend our lead as the human risk management leader," he added.
Reich will continue as an adviser into early 2026 as Khan takes on financial planning and oversight, with a focus on scaling the business internationally.
