Mediaocean has launched Mediaocean AI Ventures, an initiative to invest in AI startups in the advertising market.

The new investment arm will focus on early-stage and growth-stage companies across advertising and marketing technology, pairing funding with access to Mediaocean's software platforms and industry network.

The venture initiative has strategic backing from CVC Capital Partners, TA Associates and Eterna Growth Partners. It is designed to help startups move beyond product development and into broader use across agency and brand workflows.

The launch builds on Mediaocean's recent push into artificial intelligence. That includes the rollout of NIVO and a broader Model Context Protocol footprint, giving startups infrastructure to build AI tools inside advertising systems already used by large media buyers and brands.

Bill Wise, Chief Executive Officer of Mediaocean, said the company sees an opportunity to identify and support emerging businesses in the sector.

"Some of the most transformative companies in advertising will be built in the next few years," said Bill Wise, Chief Executive Officer, Mediaocean. "We want to find those companies early and give them something far more valuable than capital alone-a path to scale. Mediaocean AI Ventures is about combining the speed and innovation of startups with the reach, infrastructure, and AI ecosystem of Mediaocean to help build the next generation of advertising technology."

Mediaocean is positioning the new unit as both an investor and a route into existing operating systems used for media management, creative delivery, measurement and verification. Many AI startups struggle not with building software, but with fitting products into fragmented enterprise advertising processes.

Investment focus

The firm is evaluating opportunities across agentic workflow automation, advertising optimisation, cross-channel analytics, dynamic creative execution, measurement and data intelligence. Those areas reflect a broad spread of current AI activity across the advertising supply chain, from planning and buying to reporting and campaign adjustment.

Guy Kuperman will lead the initiative alongside his existing role at the company. He said Mediaocean plans to use its footprint in the ad market to help portfolio companies gain faster commercial traction.

"We're offering startups an immediate pathway into the heartbeat of global media execution," said Guy Kuperman, Chief Strategy Officer at Mediaocean and Head of Mediaocean AI Ventures. "By uniting capital with our extensive integration footprint and agentic framework, we're creating a powerful runway for the industry's most ambitious founders."

The announcement also signals an effort by Mediaocean to play a larger role in the venture market around advertising AI, not only as an operating software company but also as a strategic co-investor. The new arm will work with the wider venture capital community to help startups address integration barriers that often slow adoption by large customers.

Industry reach

More than USD $200 billion in annualised advertising spend runs through Mediaocean's platforms, which serve more than 100,000 users worldwide. Its assets include Prisma for media management and finance, Innovid for creative, delivery, measurement and optimisation, and Protected for ad verification and brand safety.

That installed base gives Mediaocean a significant presence across the workflows where AI tools are now being tested, especially as advertisers and agencies look for ways to automate repetitive tasks, improve campaign performance and connect data across channels.

In practical terms, the launch reflects a wider shift in advertising technology, as software groups look to tie investment activity more closely to their product ecosystems. For startups, access to established customers and operating environments can matter as much as funding, particularly in a market where procurement cycles are long and interoperability is a major hurdle.

For Mediaocean, the initiative offers another way to shape how AI tools are built and adopted across the industry. For startup founders and their backers, it offers the prospect of capital tied directly to distribution inside some of the sector's most widely used systems.

Mediaocean AI Ventures will target businesses across the advertising lifecycle, spanning planning, activation, creative execution, analytics, measurement and data-led decision making.
