MoonPay has appointed Anne Giviskos as Chief Financial Officer as it expands from payments into trading infrastructure and onchain capital markets.

Giviskos joins from Navan, where she served as Interim Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer. She previously held senior roles at the New York Stock Exchange and Euronext, bringing experience across public market institutions and technology businesses.

The appointment follows a series of moves to broaden MoonPay's business beyond its original payments focus. In recent months, the company launched MoonPay Trade, acquired Solana trading infrastructure platform DFlow, introduced PayBox and agreed to acquire North Capital.

Those steps have pushed MoonPay further into market infrastructure, trading and blockchain-based financial services. Giviskos will lead capital strategy and long-range planning as those operations grow.

DFlow has been a central part of that expansion. The platform processed more than USD $9 billion in volume in September and USD $46 billion so far this year, while its transactions appear in more than 95% of Solana blocks each day, according to MoonPay.

MoonPay also said its trading infrastructure is used by several large crypto platforms, including Coinbase for Solana trades and Ledger Wallet for cross-chain swaps. MoonPay Trade gives applications and institutions access to more than 200 blockchains and protocols through a single application programming interface.

Broader push

The agreement to acquire North Capital marks another shift, taking MoonPay into onchain capital markets. Alongside PayBox, which extends the group's agentic finance offering, the deal signals a broader effort to build several business lines tied to digital asset markets.

MoonPay says it serves more than 35 million customers in 180 countries and more than 1,500 business clients across crypto and financial technology. Founded in 2019, the group says it holds regulatory licences and authorisations in several jurisdictions, including the United States and the European Union.

The leadership change also comes as MoonPay expands its senior ranks. The company recently added board members and advisers with backgrounds in Wall Street, national security, Silicon Valley and digital assets.

Hiring a finance chief with experience in accounting, regulated markets and corporate scaling points to a focus on financial discipline as MoonPay moves into more complex parts of the market. Giviskos has worked in environments where regulation, reporting and operational controls carry particular weight, and those issues are likely to become more central as the company broadens its reach.

Ivan Soto-Wright, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of MoonPay, framed the appointment in those terms. "Anne knows how to help ambitious companies navigate defining moments," he said. "She brings experience from public markets and fast-growing technology companies, along with the judgment and discipline to help MoonPay expand responsibly across payments, stablecoins and financial markets."

Giviskos will oversee the finance organisation, set financial and capital strategy and support the infrastructure needed for MoonPay's next phase, according to the company. Her background includes more than two decades working on financial market infrastructure and in roles tied to scaling regulated businesses and integrating acquisitions.

That profile may prove relevant as MoonPay absorbs recent deals and adds new services. The company is positioning itself across both traditional and digital financial systems, with products spanning payments, trading, commerce and stablecoin infrastructure.

Giviskos framed her decision to join MoonPay around changes in the financial system. "The way money moves is being rebuilt and MoonPay sits at the center of that shift, with the products, partners and global reach to lead it," she said. "I'm thrilled to join the team as MoonPay scales into the company this moment calls for."
