NiCE Actimize has been named a Luminary in Celent's 2026 matrix for know your customer systems. Celent assessed 30 providers.

The designation places NiCE Actimize in Celent's top category for customer due diligence and customer lifecycle management systems. Vendors in that group stood out for technology, breadth of functionality and market presence.

Celent's assessment covered the know your customer market, which banks and other financial institutions use to onboard clients, assess risk, conduct due diligence and keep customer information current over time. In its product summary, Celent said the NiCE Actimize system offers end-to-end customer lifecycle management across those areas.

The report also highlighted a configurable rules engine, event-based triggers for real-time risk assessment and support for perpetual KYC, which keeps customer profiles updated continuously rather than relying only on periodic reviews.

According to Celent, the system integrates with multiple data sources and includes a customer outreach portal for onboarding and reviews. It can be deployed on-premise, in private or public cloud environments, or as software as a service.

The review also said the platform uses a microservices architecture and offers application programming interface integration. Celent added that the system is built to manage millions of customers and high volumes of real-time risk-rating requests.

Market scrutiny

The ranking comes as financial institutions face continued pressure to strengthen anti-money laundering controls, customer due diligence and risk monitoring while reducing manual workloads in compliance teams. KYC providers have increasingly focused on combining onboarding, screening and ongoing monitoring in a single workflow.

Technology suppliers in this segment are also trying to bring more automation to review processes, especially as banks contend with larger customer datasets, broader regulatory expectations and more frequent updates to sanctions and risk information.

Celent said planned enhancements for the NiCE Actimize platform include advanced analytics for payments screening and automated processes using generative artificial intelligence. No timetable was provided in the announcement.

Neil Katkov, PhD, Risk Director and author of the Celent report, commented on the ranking.

"NICE Actimize provides wide-ranging support for KYC processes based on years of domain expertise while at the same time keeping up with technology evolution. Maintaining competitiveness across both of these axes defines Luminaries in Celent's KYC solution analysis," said Katkov.

Company response

Craig Costigan, Chief Executive Officer of NiCE Actimize, said the ranking reflected the company's position in compliance technology for financial institutions.

"Being recognized as a Luminary for our KYC capabilities underscores our unwavering commitment to helping financial institutions strengthen know your customer and customer risk rating with precision and scale," said Costigan. "As global risks evolve, we remain focused on innovating across KYC and Customer Lifecycle Management to deliver smarter intelligence, greater operational efficiency, and lasting business value."

NiCE Actimize is part of NiCE and focuses on fraud prevention, financial crime detection and regulatory compliance software. It says it serves more than 1,000 organisations in over 70 countries.

The broader NiCE group sells artificial intelligence and cloud-based software across customer engagement and operational workflows. Its financial crime and compliance arm competes in a crowded market, where providers are judged on both regulatory coverage and how easily banks can adapt systems to changing rules and internal risk policies.

Celent's matrix is one of several sector benchmarks banks use when assessing specialist software suppliers. Such reports can influence procurement shortlists, particularly in areas such as KYC and customer lifecycle management, where institutions often look for evidence of scale, deployment flexibility and integration with existing data and monitoring tools.

In its description of the market category, Celent said Luminaries are vendors that excel in advanced technology and breadth of functionality and generally have a leading market presence.
