SEMI names Greg Barrett as new Chief Financial Operations Officer
SEMI has appointed Greg Barrett as its new Chief Financial and Business Operations Officer.
Barrett brings with him more than thirty years of experience in the semiconductor and electronics sectors. In his new position, Barrett will be responsible for driving SEMI's financial strategy and operational processes, working to provide measurable value to the group's members and ensuring the organisation's ongoing financial health.
Ajit Manocha, President and Chief Executive Officer at SEMI, pointed to Barrett's depth of expertise in the field.
"Greg's specialized industry expertise will be beneficial for helping SEMI reach its financial, operational, and membership goals. His excellence in strategic planning and corporate finance for the semiconductor industry aligns with our mission to foster growth and innovation across the global microelectronics ecosystem. We're confident that Greg will make an outstanding addition to our global leadership team," said Ajit Manocha, SEMI President and CEO.
Barrett joins SEMI from Efinix, a programmable semiconductor company, where he was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to his time at Efinix, he held senior finance roles at several technology firms including Super Micro Computer, Rambus, Micron Technology, and Altera.
Reflecting on his appointment, Barrett said he was committed to furthering SEMI's goals in a rapidly evolving industry context.
"I'm honored to join SEMI as its Chief Financial and Business Operations Officer. As semiconductor technologies become more complex, the need for unified industry engagement becomes more apparent. I look forward to advancing this mission alongside SEMI's senior leaders and board members," said Barrett.
Barrett takes over the role from Kevin Bauer, who previously held the position of Chief Financial and Business Operations Officer at SEMI. Bauer is recognised for overseeing key financial strategies and guiding SEMI's growth initiatives during his tenure.
Manocha commented on Bauer's contribution, stating,
"Kevin was instrumental in laying a strong foundation for SEMI's financial growth strategy. He guided SEMI in financing the expansion of our programs to address the global semiconductor industry's most pressing challenges, and he executed on our strategic plan to develop diversified revenue streams and emerge stronger than ever post-pandemic. We thank Kevin for his invaluable service to SEMI, our members and the industry."
Barrett holds a master's degree in business administration from Santa Clara University and a bachelor's degree in finance from California State University of Chico. He will report directly to SEMI's President and CEO, Ajit Manocha.
