Tri City National Bank goes live with Alkami platform

Tri City National Bank has gone live with Alkami's Digital Sales & Service Platform, bringing several customer-facing banking functions onto one system.
The bank, which has served Southeastern Wisconsin for more than 60 years, is using the platform for account opening, digital banking, and data and marketing. Tri City operates 25 locations in the region.
The move comes as smaller lenders look to simplify their technology estates while competing for deposits and new customers against larger banks and digital-only providers. For community banks, combining separate digital tools into a single system can reduce fragmentation across the customer journey.
Tri City's deployment includes Alkami's Onboarding & Account Opening Solution, Digital Banking Solution, and Data & Marketing Solution. The platform is designed to give banks a more connected view of how customers join, use, and respond to services across digital channels.
For Tri City, the project is part of a broader effort to extend its branch-based service model into online and mobile banking. The bank has positioned the launch as a way to preserve its local identity while adapting to changing customer behaviour.
Nick Bandoch described that shift in a statement on the launch.
"At Tri City, community banking means meeting people where they are, whether they walk into a branch and someone knows them by name or they choose to bank digitally. Those everyday conversations that once happened naturally in the branch are happening differently now, and we need to recognize customer needs and deliver relevant solutions in digital moments. We chose Alkami because its team is strategically focused on the digital experience and is agile enough to help us adapt faster, anticipate customer needs, and continue delivering the kind of personal service that has always defined Tri City," said Nick Bandoch, Senior Vice President and Chief Brand Officer at Tri City.
Digital shift
Regional and community banks have been under pressure to upgrade digital channels as customer expectations have moved well beyond basic online account access. Many now want to link account opening, day-to-day banking, and customer outreach more closely rather than run them through separate providers and disconnected datasets.
That trend has helped specialist banking technology groups position integrated platforms as an alternative to piecemeal systems. For lenders, the appeal is not only a smoother customer experience but also faster internal coordination between marketing, service, and product teams.
Alkami, which supplies software to US banks and credit unions, has built its offering around that approach. Its platform combines onboarding, digital banking, and data-led customer engagement tools, although each component can also be used separately.
The launch with Tri City gives Alkami another community bank client using multiple elements of the system together. It also reflects local lenders' continued willingness to invest in digital channels while trying to preserve relationship banking.
Customer relationships
Benjamin Conant tied the launch to Tri City's longstanding focus on personal service.
"Tri City National Bank has built a strong legacy around hometown service and meaningful customer relationships. Through the Alkami Digital Sales & Service Platform, Tri City is extending that same relationship-driven approach into the digital channel. We are proud to support their vision and help them deliver experiences that are more connected, personalized, and responsive to the needs of their customers," said Benjamin Conant, Chief Product Officer at Alkami.
Tri City's emphasis on relationship banking is central to how many community lenders distinguish themselves from national rivals. In practice, that often means trying to recreate some of the recognition and tailored service of the branch network through digital interactions, where customer needs are less visible unless the bank can effectively combine behavioural and account data.
Industry-wide, that objective has grown more urgent as more sales and service activity shifts online. New account applications, product recommendations, and routine support requests increasingly begin on digital channels, leaving smaller banks to decide whether their existing systems can keep pace or whether they need a more unified architecture.
For Alkami, the deployment also underlines how digital modernisation in banking is no longer centred only on the largest national institutions. Community banks and credit unions now make up a significant part of the market for integrated banking software, particularly when they want to tighten links between customer acquisition, servicing, and marketing.
Tri City now has account opening, digital banking, and data and marketing functions running on one platform across its 25 locations in Southeastern Wisconsin.
