Xensam launches DataBridge to unify enterprise software data
Xensam has announced the release of DataBridge, a strategic enhancement to its software asset management platform designed to deliver company-wide visibility of software and enable more informed decision-making for enterprises.
DataBridge is positioned to bridge a significant gap in enterprise IT by integrating software asset data discovered using Xensam's tools into a broad array of IT infrastructure systems. The company reports that the enhancement is intended to address challenges related to disconnected software data, which it says continue to lead to unnecessary expenses and lack of clarity for businesses.
The launch of DataBridge follows a recent funding round that raised $40 million, as well as the company's introduction of a standalone SaaS Management Platform. The timing of this release also coincides with Xensam's SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, a certification that reinforces the company's security capabilities for enterprise customers.
Xensam says DataBridge integrates Xensam's software intelligence directly into systems such as ServiceNow, cloud-based business intelligence tools, and proprietary enterprise applications. This integration is aimed at providing real-time visibility, and enabling faster, more accurate decisions for organisations managing complex software estates.
Oskar Fösker, CEO and Co-Founder of Xensam, said: "Disconnected software data costs time, money, and clarity. DataBridge fixes that. It's a strategic layer that enhances the value, integration power, and insight reach of our core platform. With DataBridge, we're giving everyone from the CEO to the system admin a shared, trusted view of software across the entire business, so they can control costs and make better business decisions."
According to the company, the enhancement is intended not only to improve integration but also to help clients prepare for increasing adoption of artificial intelligence-driven processes. Xensam claims DataBridge offers high-quality, reliable intelligence thanks to its practice of normalising and enriching software data before transferring it into external systems.
The goal for DataBridge, as described by Xensam, is to ensure that systems receiving software asset data - ranging from configuration management databases (CMDBs) to analytics platforms—always operate with accurate and actionable information. This is expected to have implications for businesses that are investing in automation, optimisation and AI-driven workflows.
DataBridge provides automated data integrations between Xensam and other systems through several channels. The first is the Xensam Integration Platform (XIP), a low-code, visual interface equipped with nearly 5,000 pre-built integrations. Xensam says this platform allows IT teams to construct and automate outbound workflows without the need for additional development resources.
The second channel is the ServiceNow Connector, labelled Xync by Xensam. This tool keeps the ServiceNow CMDB continuously updated with real-time software intelligence from Xensam, supporting more effective IT service management, change control and compliance.
A third integration method involves scheduled exports of Xensam's software data to S3-compatible cloud storage. This ensures that external analytics tools, dashboards, and business intelligence platforms work with the latest available data.
Finally, DataBridge provides REST API access, giving secure and customisable capabilities for exporting software data into internal systems, applications, or proprietary tools.
Attendees in Stockholm are able to view demonstrations of DataBridge as Xensam showcases its latest technology at its Visibility Tour: Home Edition. Participants at the event are being shown ways to harness software intelligence for artificial intelligence initiatives while maintaining oversight of licensing costs and compliance obligations.
Founded in Stockholm in 2016 by brothers previously working at Snow Software, Xensam now serves 250 customers including Volvo's Polestar and Northvolt. The company's offerings span Europe and the US, with a focus on streamlining software management across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
