FloQast appoints Sri Ramalingam as CTO to advance AI strategy

Today

FloQast has appointed Sri Ramalingam as its new Chief Technology Officer, assigning him to lead the company's technology strategy with a focus on furthering its AI-powered automation capabilities for accounting professionals.

Ramalingam, who brings more than 20 years of engineering leadership experience to the role, will focus his efforts on advancing FloQast's emerging artificial intelligence initiatives, including its recently launched AI Agents designed for finance and accounting teams.

His appointment is intended to support FloQast's ongoing aim to provide scalable and secure automation solutions for large, complex finance teams across enterprise organisations, as well as to maintain responsiveness to the needs of rapidly growing businesses.

Shaping technology direction

Ramalingam was previously Senior Vice President of Engineering at Harness, where he oversaw software delivery lifecycle improvements with particular emphasis on security and operational resilience. His professional background also includes a tenure as Vice President of Engineering at Zoom Video Communications, where he contributed to the platform's rapid growth and global expansion. Further previous roles include leadership positions at Cisco, Plantronics, Saba, and co-founding a mobile video startup, StreamJive Networks.

FloQast's decision to appoint Ramalingam comes as the company seeks to further integrate AI technology into core operations that automate complex recurring accounting workflows, aiming to continue the shift from traditional programming-intensive processes to more intuitive, natural language-driven solutions.

Building on AI momentum

One strategic focus will be enhancing FloQast's recently released AI solutions, including FloQast Transform, which enables accountants to create and tailor their own AI Agents to suit their individual work practices and the unique requirements of their organisations.

"Sri's track record of building and scaling world-class engineering teams makes him the perfect person to take FloQast's AI and automation capabilities to the next level. With FloQast AI Agents, we've already set a new standard for what's possible in accounting automation, and Sri's leadership will be instrumental as we evolve our platform to support enterprise-scale performance, reliability, and customization. Under Sri's leadership, we'll push even further to deliver innovations that propel the industry forward and empower accountants to focus on strategic initiatives while AI handles repetitive, time-consuming tasks," said Chris Sluty, CPA*, Co-founder and Chief Product Officer of FloQast.

FloQast's product roadmap includes expansion of functionality so larger teams can further customise automation for their internal processes, an area the company says is seeing increased demand from clients operating on a global scale.

Industry experience

During his career Ramalingam has held positions that placed him at the intersection of fast-growing technology companies and enterprise adoption of new digital solutions. At Zoom, his role was closely linked to scaling the platform to support spikes in demand and enhancing its ability to deliver a consistent user experience globally. At Harness, his focus included integrating security and efficiency into sophisticated software development pipelines for distributed teams.

FloQast has cited these experiences among the factors influencing its decision to bring Ramalingam onto the executive team in a period when finance automation and digital transformation remain key priorities for both mid-sized and large corporate accounting teams.

View from the new CTO

"FloQast is at the forefront of AI innovation in accounting, and I couldn't be more excited to join this team. The launch of FloQast AI Agents is just the beginning as there is still so much potential to transform how finance professionals work by embedding intelligent automation into every aspect of their workflows. I look forward to accelerating FloQast's engineering vision and delivering even more groundbreaking solutions that help accountants work smarter, not harder," said Sri Ramalingam.

FloQast's platform is utilised by over 3,000 accounting teams globally, and supports functionality that includes close management, account reconciliations, operations automation and compliance. The company's recent drive into AI has focused on reducing routine workloads for accountants and improving audit readiness and operational transparency for larger businesses.

Market participants in accounting technology will be monitoring how Ramalingam's appointment shapes FloQast's next phase of product development and its effort to align software capabilities with the evolving demands of enterprise finance functions.
