Prezzee launches PrezzeePay to simplify global digital gifting

Thu, 27th Nov 2025

Prezzee has announced the launch of PrezzeePay, a suite of digital payment products aimed at allowing retailers to establish global gift card programmes without the need for extensive technological investment or changes to their existing systems.

Gift card integration

The new platform enables retailers, including shopping centres, franchise networks, venues and global or luxury brands, to offer unified and mobile-first gifting solutions. PrezzeePay is built to operate on top of current infrastructure and point-of-sale systems. Retailers are able to participate without undertaking significant updates or integrations, and the setup process is designed to be completed in a matter of weeks.

Craig Smith, CEO of Prezzee, described the initiative as an important progression for the company's service to clients in the digital payments sector.

"PrezzeePay represents a major step forward in our mission to create seamless, secure, and meaningful payment experiences," said Craig Smith, CEO, Prezzee. "We're giving retailers and brands the tools to innovate faster, connect deeper with customers, and compete in a digital-first economy."

Market reach

PrezzeePay is positioned to support retailers seeking access to the global prepaid and digital wallet market, which analysts estimate is worth USD $26 billion and growing nearly 10% annually. By leveraging its payments network partnership with UnionPay International, PrezzeePay aims to facilitate the broad acceptance of digital gift cards for retailers and consumers in more than 183 countries.

The platform allows retailers that had previously encountered barriers to gift card integration-due to regional, franchise, or infrastructure challenges-to offer gift cards to customers without requiring a costly overhaul of existing systems. According to company data, gift card recipients typically spend approximately 35% above the value of the card, representing a potential revenue benefit for participating retailers.

Technology approach

Following the receipt of an Australian Financial Services licence for its PrezzeePay subsidiary, Prezzee can now provide an expanded range of regulated products and services, including bespoke end-to-end gifting solutions tailored to partner requirements. The company expects this compliance milestone to support more agile development and deeper strategic collaborations with retailers worldwide.

Benoit Garnaud, COO, Product & Technology of Prezzee, outlined the challenge for global retailers. "There is a legacy belief within the gift card market that global or franchise retailers could never have a unified gifting program. We wanted to challenge that. PrezzeePay is a huge opportunity for consumers to get more flexibility and global acceptance, while retailers tap into Gen Z's preference for cashless, mobile-first shopping," said Benoit Garnaud, COO, Product & Technology, Prezzee. "PrezzeePay means faster speed to market, lower costs, and access to global customers - without spending money on ripping out existing systems."

Gen Z focus

Retailers using PrezzeePay will be positioned to address younger consumer preferences, with internal research highlighting that 80% of Gen Z favour cashless transactions and over 60% primarily conduct shopping via mobile devices. PrezzeePay's features are designed to match these behaviours with a digital-first experience, which can be accessed from any location where supported cards are accepted.

PrezzeePay will initially be available to retailers, with consumer access set for early 2026 as the company expands the rollout of its platform globally.
