Solera Foundation marks year of boosting women’s leadership in insurance

Fri, 5th Dec 2025

The Solera Foundation has marked the first anniversary of its Women in Insurance and Insurtech Network, highlighting increased female leadership in mobility and insurance industries. The announcement took place at Insurtech Insights Asia in Hong Kong.

The network began as an internal programme at Solera. It has since evolved into a global initiative supporting women in the insurance sector. The foundation expanded its activities to Latin America and now plans further growth in Asia-Pacific.

Global expansion

In its first year, the initiative crossed company boundaries to connect with women professionals across the insurance ecosystem. The Solera Foundation said it aims to support women in leadership roles both within and outside its organisation.

The foundation has set three core focus areas. Leadership development is one. The programme offers structured opportunities for women at different career stages. Activities address leadership presence, skills for managing change, and professional advancement. Community building is another focus. The network maintains channels for ongoing discussion and idea-sharing. The third area, visibility and networking, organises annual industry events. These events bring together female professionals for connections and knowledge exchange.

Industry support

The Solera Foundation said it also backs female leadership in related sectors. It sponsors initiatives such as Women Driving Auto Retail in the automotive industry.

The group announced continued expansion in Asia-Pacific during its second year. Plans include recognising members' achievements and forming new partnerships with industry organisations.

Jing Liao, Chairwoman of The Solera Foundation and Chief Administrative Officer at Solera, addressed the anniversary event. She said diverse leadership strengthens both innovation and competitiveness within companies.

"What we've built demonstrates that diversity and inclusion aren't just moral imperatives, they're strategic levers for innovation and competitiveness. When we invest in developing diverse leaders in traditionally male-dominated fields, organisations become more innovative, decisions become more balanced and the industry moves forward," said Liao.

Liao delivered a keynote panel address at the Insurtech Insights Asia event. Other foundation members include executives from AXA Group, Generali China, Helport AI, Global Green Connect, LKQ SYNETIQ, and INSEAD.

The Solera Foundation said it will continue expanding its global community of women leaders in insurance over the next year.
